Ring of Hell author interviews Paul Heyman.

MRV: On a recent WWE 24/7 roundtable, Jerry Lawler admitted to
intentionally breaking your jaw in June of 1987 for refusing to take an
unprotected fall off a scaffold in a Scaffold Match. Are you surprised by
Lawler’s admission? What is your response to Lawler bragging in public that
he took advantage of your trust to physically assault you for refusing to
perform such a wildly dangerous stunt?
*Paul Heyman: Well, he broke my jaw BEFORE the scaffold match. He’s always
taken liberties with other people, especially those who by the nature of the
situation had to place some trust in him. F*** him. I don’t spend any time
in my life thinking about him. He’s in the past where he belongs. And no,
I’m not surprised he’s still talking about me. If half HIS locker room
banged MY wife, I guess I’d hold a grudge, too.

Also, an exclusive question/answer cut by UGO censors sent only to the folks
for this posting:
MRV: This is an election year: where does Paul Heyman stand when it comes to
John McCain versus Barack Obama? If you were running for office, what would
be your platform?
Paul Heyman: OK, I guess this is where I get myself in trouble, right? OK,
here goes. Want to live in a United States where Roe vs. Wade is
overturned? By all means, vote for John McCain. Want to live in a United
States where that victory over a woman’s right to her own body is heralded
as a religious victory over zealots who want to “kill innocent babies”? Then
by all means, vote for John McCain. Want Global Warming ignored? In a world
where the O-Zone is already gone? Where SunBlock 50 doesn’t really help?
Where the rate of usage of our planet is so sped up, we’re going through
hundreds of years of exhausting the planet’s resources every decade? By all
means, vote for John McCain. Take just one moment and think about what this
country and your rights will be like if John McCain is the person who gets
to pick the next (at least) 3 members of the Supreme Court. I think the
Senior Senator from Arizona is a noble man. I think he has great integrity.
I think he’s far from the criminals we have running the show now. But the
mere thought of him picking the next 3 members of the Court is enough to
have me running to anyone else, whether or not that person is “the best we
have” or “not up to Hillary’s qualifications.” Personally, I thought Mrs.
Clinton was the most qualified. I thought she was the smartest person in the
room. And she brings along with her a former President who was truly
spectacular in the job. But she’s not available. Is the Obama movement based
on “nothing”? Absolutely not. The man has demonstrated “substance,” but
nothing that approaches his “style.” However, there is nothing he’s saying
that would lead anyone (at least in my opinion) to hold their children
tightly and wonder what kind of world it will be for them in 4 years. And,
sorry to say, John McCain causes that reaction. That’s my two scheckles, for
whatever their worth. Now read the opinions of people far smarter than I,
and enjoy your day. And, enjoy your rights. At least, for now.
If I were running? Well, first of all, I wouldn’t run. Secondly, if I were
forced to run, I guess my platform would be “hey, let the unqualified guy
take a shot at this…. he couldn’t screw it up any worse than the 8 years
we just went through!”

Statement from Mick Foley on leaving WWE, his future with TNA Wrestling and other opportunities.
As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. I will always begrateful to WWE for affording me so many incredible opportunities over the pastthirteen years, but feel the time is right to pursue other endeavors.
This move frees me up to participate in more film, television and voice roles, autograph sessions, speaking engagements, volunteer work, and will allow me thetime to start work on a third novel, a fourth wrestling memoir and a new children’s story.
Over the next few weeks I will be working with my management team at Braverman/Bloom Co., Inc. in pursuing a couple of unique investment opportunities.
I can confirm I have had discussions with TNA Wrestling and have come to ashort-term agreement. I am very excited about the specifics of this agreement andthe potential it holds.

After an 11-month legal battle between the Ultimate Fighting Championship and UFC Heavyweight champion Randy “The Natural” Couture, UFC has announced that Couture has signed a new multi-fight contract with the company.
In a conference call held Tuesday afternoon, UFC President Dana White announced that Couture would step back into the octagon at UFC 91 on November 15th in Las Vegas to defend his title against heavyweight contender Brock Lesnar.
Since Couture’s departure from the UFC last October, the company crowned an interim Heavyweight champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Nogueirawill defend his interim title against Frank Mir at UFC’s December show. The winners of Couture-Lesnar and Nogueira-Mir will then square off next spring to determine the undisputed UFC Heavyweight champion.
UFC 91 was originally scheduled to take place from Portland, Oregon but has now been moved to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas.
Shawn Michaels tricep tear not as bad as expected.

F4WOnline.com reported Tuesday evening that the prognosis on Shawn Michaels’ triceps injury should produce sighs of relief within World Wrestling Entertainment.
According to the story, the word going around is that Michaels only suffered a minor tear of the muscle. Consequently, surgery does not appear necessary.
Reports say that Michaels was never going to miss Sunday’s Unforgiven match against Chris Jericho, but had the injury required surgery, he would have missed several months following the pay-per-view. He still might miss time, but that absence will not be significant.

Chris Jericho interview,character change.

Chris Jericho discussed the overhaul of his character in an interview with the Between the Ropes radio show last night. “My mission was to completely reinvent who Chris Jericho was as a character and what Chris Jericho was as a performer and who Chris Jericho is as a performer,” Jericho said. “I’ve really been concentrating on doing things I’ve never done before and doing things completely different from before. I think it’s part of the heat. People really aren’t happy with the fact that I’m serious about no more Y2J… It’s getting to the point where when someone calls me that I’m almost insulted by it because I’m so into this whole character that I’ve created.” Jericho also commented on a reality show he will be hosting on Fuse called Redemption Song. “We started last week and it’s going great,” Jericho said. He noted that the concept of the show involves female singers who screwed up their past chances in the music industry due to drinking and drugs getting a shot at redemption.”
WWE schedule taking its toll on its Superstars.
– The Sun has an article on John Cena’s neck injury. The article also notes that a few WWE main eventer are hurting pretty bad too. One WWE insider told The Sun that Edge desperately needed to take a few weeks off because he’s so banged up. “This is why Edge is taking a few weeks off. He desperately needs to,” the source explained. “His performances on the mic and limited actions kept him OK through the Hell in a Cell Match with Undertaker, but Edge is a man in a lot of constant pain, he just doesn’t want to give up his top spot right now.” Also, Undertaker apparently came back early for his showdown with Edge at SummerSlam. “Undertaker himself came back a little early,” the source said. “His knee is still very sore, and he has to be very careful with it because he’s not a youngster anymore and he could suffer an injury that could put him on the shelf for a very long time.” The wear and tear of WWE’s grueling schedule is taking its toll on a number of other WWE stars as well. “It’s a beat up crew right now, it’s not just the injury bug. The wears and tears of WWE schedule are catching up with everyone.”
John Cena out with herniated disk in neck; requires surgery.

John Cena will be out of action indefinitely due to a herniated disc in his neck, which will require surgery. The storyline reason for the injury is due to several Batista Bombs from Batista at SummerSlam.
WWE.com has comments from John Cena regarding the neck injury that has pulled him out of the ring indefinitely. “It needs to be dealt with because I lost most of the feeling in my right arm and am having pain in my shoulder,” Cena told WWE.com. “I’m losing 20 percent of my strength per day. If I don’t do anything about it, the injury will end up rupturing and then the surgery will be more difficult. It’s not easy, because surgery never is.”
Cena will visit neurosurgeon Joseph Maroon at the University of Pittsburgh tomorrow morning to discuss the situation.
In comparison to his pectoral tear injury last fall, Cena said, “It’s a different injury than the pectoral tear because that was more of a muscle injury; this is concerning my bones, which has a lot less blood flow than muscle tissue. It also has to do with my neck, which is a very fragile area.”
On the severity of the injury, Cena said, “Every moment I stay away from the table is another moment something bad can happen. The disc is so bulged out and inflamed that any sudden move could make it worse.”
